Advert for Section Leaders – Beavers, Cubs and Scouts

Volunteer leaders and helpers are needed for a well attended and popular Scout group in South Manchester.

We are looking for Leaders and helpers for the Beavers (aged 6-8), Cubs (aged 8-10) and Scouts (aged 10-14). We are the 2/249th Manchester Scout Group based in Whalley Range M21. Our venue is a well-equipped spacious hall with an extensive outside space.

These opportunities would be ideal for someone looking for experience of working with children, developing and running age and section appropriate activities. Sessions usually run for one to 1.5 hours. Full training will be provided and a DBS is required which the Scout Association will pay for.

Assistant Cub Scout Leaders
We are currently looking for Assistant Cub Scout Leaders to join our growing group in Wythenshawe.

Are you looking for a role where you can put your skills to use, learn new ones and play an active role in our community?

Due to our current Cub section being full we are now opening a brand-new section in our group which will run alongside our Tuesday cubs.

As an Assistant Cub Scout Leader, you will be part of a team that develop and implement weekly activities which contribute towards the development of the young people and their Scouting experience.

Social Media Volunteer
Always on Facebook?

You’re just what we need! Do you know your Facebook from your Twitter? Can you manage a digital community? Then we would love to use your skills to manage our social media accounts.

We are seeking a Social Media Volunteer to help promote local Scouting along with our group information, achievements and events. You will spend time updating and monitoring our social media accounts while scheduling regular posts and photos, replying to messages and hash tagging all things exciting going on in the group.

No specific time commitment is required, and the role is flexible enough to fit around you.

This role is ideal for someone who is studying Social Media, Online Marketing at University plus it all looks great on your CV.

Explorer Scout Leader (Sea Scouts)
Chorlton Scouts is one of the largest groups in Manchester and is growing fast, We are now seeking a leader to open an Explorer Scout Unit to partner with our Sea Scout Troop.

Chorlton Scouts has an established Sea Scout Troop with a fleet of kayaks, canoes and dinghies available for use. Some experience on the water would be useful but we can offer training. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to shape a section to get involved

Hedgehogs Supporters(Early Years)
Chorlton Scout Group is growing fast, we’ve been selected as one of only a handful of scout groups to trial early years provision for 4-6 year olds

Experience with early years children would be helpful but is not essential, we can offer full training and support and a funding package to get the new cub pack off the ground.
